It's business as usual at Telkom. As I had some hope, see my sig, I now give up. Telkom keeps on hinting about the great things to come, so I wondered.. My final conclusion is For Telkom profits YES, for us, NO, I doubt it.. Telkom lives in their own dream world about what Broadband is about and we just have to accept what they offer while they are milking the cow dry.

No more communication from me will proceed with Telkom as I feel it a waste of time, as they know how and where they want to screw us, nothing we say or do will change their minds. It has to come from above and Icasa and we all know where we are with them at the moment.

Here is the latest reply
Well the usage option has just kicked in and most [no I fib, all ISP] are blaming Telkom for the hard cap and then we [TI] went and did a shared option based on average so hence the late reply as I have been fielding mails about how we cant do it with a almost no cap service due to mom's a pops not using their full allocation etc etc, so it's been fun while I justify how we will do it until the average gets above 3 Gig that is and then we are just another hard capping ISP.

Also got the update on SHDSL and the new xDSL technologies and what we can do over the true broadband services, so things are very very busy here, did the trail things with MS and their IPTV model and xBox, just so much happening.

Hey Chris,

Which is more important, your PR job or your country? Trying to get your logic here.

The only way SA is going to get better is if the Netizens of the country stop complaing to telkom and do something about the stiuation.... WITHOUT E/ICASA, Whitout Telkom! and without the DoC.
There are enough brains here to wiegh up the mass of a virtual mustard seed but yet we choose not to do it for reasons of being scared. Telkom/Icasa cannot take on the entire SA netizen community and get away with it.

What are we? Sheep? Time for action!

Well w1z4d, not realy clear who's you refer to, but I thought PR would work talking to TELKOM, I have seen all that happens is that the old "lets give them a dummy and carry on as usual" attitude remains. I was hoping whats in the pipeline, TELKOM buddys on site keep on refering to, will be good for us. After todays mail I realised TELKOM have their own agenda and they will tell us what we need. No discussion. As old days they will oversell their crap system instead of upgrading the system, and then by degrading the services try to make their net service to cope. The new services coming like higer speed and xdsl and others will now be seen as a different service thus probably will cost higer than the "norma"l broadband we currently have. There is no hope, we will always be robbed anyway they can by all major corporations in the country, with goverment backup. They will delay any competition as long as they can while pocketing lucritive kickbacks and so on.
Thus regards to the country I do not no what you mean but think strongley to follow family that left for NZ, as this country with the baboons that run it is really getting on my F@cking nerves
Crime sky rocketing
Feul sky rocketing
Diffrauding me of my revenue Sky rocketing
Coruption increasing
Extreme laws, cell card reporting and Information act, exploding without any reasoning.
Schools degrading and changing in two year cycles. etc 100's more

Its just to much
