I'm currently at a clients office and cannot access any international sites.

Hi Glipsie,

Could you send a traceroute/tracert?
How are you connecting to the net?
Could it be a isdsl soft cap problem?

I would hope that Vodacom are not using ADSL to provide their HSDPA! ;)

Tracing route to www.l.google.com [209.85.227.104]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms Laptop [0.0.0.0]
2 87 ms 89 ms 78 ms 10.113.160.170

Carries on like that.

Very strange issue. I seem to be able to access half the internet from here. Wikipedia doesn't work, slashdot does, xkcd does, securityfocus does, speedtest doesn't, none of googles services work ...

lol my bad ;)
that does seem strange.
interested to see if a local traceroute goes out no problem.
seems like it could be a routing issue? it seems to not know where to go after the gateway.

Same problem here on my contract package using embedded 3G on my LG laptop with Ericson software.

Machine 5 meters away with Vodafone E220, Vodafone software and pre-paid sim has no problems at all.

155 tells met to flush my DNS etc etc.

I've done that 15 times since the weekend and I'm getting quite g*tvol!

When this contract expires there will be MTN pre-paid all round...
