No internet at night

I have had an issue the last couple of nights with my 4mb uncapped Telkom and account..

From around 7:30pm I lose all access to websites and streaming. Whatsapp on my phone stops working(phone connected to Wifi). I can play a couple of games(Battlefield 4 was playable online). I can also update games via steam.

I did a speedtest and all seemed fined?? :confused:

And then around 10pm I can access the internet again as normal.

Has anyone had this issue before?
 
1. Check all the settings in your router.

2. Check your firewall settings.

3. Test with a "loan" router.

4. Do a factory reset on your router. WARNING: be sure that you have all the necessary usernames and passwords before doing this.

Why would the router cause this at exactly the same time daily?

At least that is what telkom will tell him, especially with it being at peak usage times.

But then his speed tests would also show it, which it does not. And he can still play BF online and update Steam games...
 
I will reset the router settings tonight and see if the problem persists. Did not really think it could be a router problem because it only happens at night at a certain time.
 
I had the same problem, That time of the day the router get the hottest. To prove it the router was setup as 'direct connection', forgot the real name. I then replace it with a new router, works 100% now.

Bridge Mode.

You could also try changing DNS to the google ones. In my experience Telkom DNS servers are not the most reliable.
 
Ok so last night I sat and watched a series on kodi until the internet stops working again so I can play with the router an see what happens. But to my surprise it stayed on.

So now I do not know if this is going to happen again. Lest hope not.
 
I had exactly the same problem but once i reboot the router it works again, it is a sort of data interruption but in your case could be different.
