Hi there,

I cannot access any international sites.

I just called Afrihost, they say their servers are down and not sure when they will be fixed.

Am I the only one?

hmmm ok, I wonder if the problem is spesific to Afirhost or is this a problem with all the ISP's at the moment.

Just changed to my WA backup prepaid account and it is much better. But they don't use Seacom as far as I know.

the interwebs of the last week or so has been very ***ka, hope it is sorted soon, really annoying this

I signed up for WebAfrica prepaid and our international connection was immediately restored. Some companies seems to place all their eggs in one basket.

Latest from Afrihost:

As a temporary solution, Afrihost has setup a proxy server that will offer international access through our hosting infrastructure untill SEACOM is back online.

Please note that this is experimental and international access speeds will be throttled. Please note that you won't be able to access YouTube and several other media streaming sites and services.

Please set your browser to Automatically detect your proxy settings and set the proxy URL to http://www.afrihost.co.za/proxy.pac

If you have trouble accessing any websites after SEACOM is active again, please remove the proxy server settings.

I've tried using this proxy though and it tells me "Access Denied"!
