no internet

Hi there

I have a HUAWEI usb modem.
One standard lynksys router
One hp desktop and one dell pc.

The usb modem is connected to the hp desktop. The internet connection is 100% here.
The hp is connected to the lynksys router via cat 5 cable.
the dell laptop is connected to the linksys router via cat 5 cable.
File and print sharing is enabled and firewals are turned of.
The router has dhcp enabled.
Pc on workgroup.
Can view and edit shared folders.

How do i setup the dell so that it can use the usb modem through the hp for internet access?

go to your 'network connections' folder and right-click the conection, it will give you an option to 'share' that connection. then you will have to set the hp's lan ip as the default gateway on the dell, and the dns on should be the same on both.

disable the DHCP on the linksys.
share the 3G connection on the HP, it will set the IP to 192.168.0.1 and start the mini DHCP server.
Check that the dell has the new DHCP settings
Internet should be working on the dell when the HP is connected to 3G.
