no internets in south africa

I was on the net just fine and then I stopped. I reset my tablet and it didn't reconnect the data connection for about ten minutes. I checked my phone and it was doing the same.

It's been an hour now and still nothing. I honed the call center many times (first ten times the call didn't even go through), but after being put through to technical support, nobody could hear me. I phoned three times without anyone being able to hear me. The fourth time the call got cut while I was holding for an agent.

Clearly the call center is having issues too because I tested my calls on my wife and got through first time and she could hear me. Still no Internet on my phone though and I'm tired of phoning the call center and getting disconnected. The first person I spoke to told me that a few people have complained from Toti area already, but this has been going on for a long time now, but not complete cutoff, usually just loses data connection and then reconnects (with increased frequency lately).

What's going on cellc? Everything was going fine for the last year and now it's all gone down the crapper.

In East London. I have a 2gb sim in my laptop and my tablet. Both are connected but stone dead throughput-wise. Clearly something broke on the Cell C network. Sigh!

I'm forced to use my wife's stupid iPhone on MTN now. I hate how it puts uppercase letters and corrections everywhere. :(

I thought there would be more complaints here, but then I realized nobody can connect probably.

Stuck using a very basic nokia which is my cycling phone with a vodacom sim in. Will someone post here when Cell C comes alive again or if anyone is bored enough to call the contact centre?

so the whole country is down? odd that there's no news anywhere about this... or do all journalists only use cellc?

this is bollocks that nothing is working. i'm not phoning the call center again. +-10 unsuccessful calls is enough for me.

Cell C has been down since about 13H30 in Pretoria (Irene Area) and still not up. On 8ta at this moment and it is fine.
