Recently at a funeral, I witnessed one of the people carrying the coffin mis-step causing the others to do so as well.
I burst out laughing and everyone looked at me angrily. The harder I tried to stop, the more I couldn't. I had to leave, eventually. Highly embarrassed.

Not the first time either that I could not hold back from laughing in a very inappropriate situation.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

My mom is the same, especially with her sisters. In the place you're least supposed to laugh they'll start cracking up. Funerals right up there, especially the formal NG-kerk type things.

LOL... t's not intentional, kind of a reflex action that's very difficult to control.. In certain circumstances. The thing is that it happens only when it shouldn't. Like in normal, casual circumstances, it's a non issue.

Once at a conference, this Chinese guy was talking and because of his accent, everytime he said the word "push"... It came out as"Puss"... I started to laugh so hard that the guy noticed me and got very offended. My boss was not impressed either.

Coffin dance gone wrong...

After I have seen the coffin dance clips I need to avoid funerals myself.
If something makes someone laugh at mine one day it will be great - that is if anyone pitches except my ex, and she will just be there to make sure and celebrate.

Like the trumpet player who started laughing at himself for laughing when he is supposed to play trumpet for an audience. The more he tried to play the more he laughed.

I've heard it's a known nervous reaction to extreme stress. Had a lady friend who used to do it. She also used to laugh hysterically sometimes in cinemas but to actual comedic moments, embarrassing.
