I am aware of that post, but I don't think this had any effect as my connection was still painstakingly slow after you posted that, only this morning did it improve.

Not sure how far away you are, I'm in Paulshof and have an omni I'm not using, you welcome to try it out before buying 1.....
Thanks for the offer rsifan, I'm actually going to be in your area on Friday, but it isn't really that close so I don't plan on coming there again after then soon. I'll find out whether someone closer to me has an omni I can borrow, but once again, thanks very much.
