Good day all

After using a Nokia for many years I received a BB 9700 Bold as a work phone. I'm being ported from Autopage to Vodacom SP and the new SIM has not been activated yet. Could this be the reason I cannot see a Maps icon?

It's seems it going to take some time to get used to the different operation of this awesome device! :o

Thanks in advance
Don

Hey, your BIS has to be activated first for you too see all the good stuff. If the BIS will be activated on the new SIM, then you won't be able to see it yet. You can read all the other questions you might have in Oronte's thread that is stickied on top named: "The is it really free thread".

Welcome to the BB club, hope you enjoy your bold.

Thanks for help, phoneJunky. One of colleagues has a Curve and she wanted to know how does one send a contact to another phone - like a Nokia?

You can send it as an e-mail or using instant messenging programmes like Google Talk and BBM. If you compose an MMS you can add a contact.
On OS5 (both the curve 8900 and 8520 can be updated to OS5) you can bluetooth your phonebook or a category of contacts but for some reason it's not easy to send a single contact.
