Noticed today that ESPN and ESPN Classic will no longer be aired from tomorrow. Their sports coverage was crappy to say the least but they did have very interesting sports documentaries e.g. 30 for 30 and more recently Nine for IX.

Must say will also miss their extreme sports coverage and poker tournaments.

Only thing I ever watched was Worlds Strongest Man, guess i'll have to pirate.

Sucks.

NASCAR, NHRA, Friday Night Fights and the NFL were all appreciated at home.

Very disappointing. I used to enjoy the coverage of Boxing, the Bassmaster events and NFL.

MultiChoice and ESPN announced in a press statement today (24 July 2013) that they have reached an agreement to provide DStv subscribers across sub-Saharan Africa with some of the sport programmes broadcast on ESPN.

This is after ESPN notified MultiChoice that it will cease broadcasting its channels in Africa, Europe and the Middle East from 31 July 2013.

The programmes which were partially broadcast on ESPN and will now be available on SuperSport channels include:
•Golf: US Open Golf and PGA Tour Events;
•Tennis: US Open Tennis tournaments;
•NCAA Basketball: NCAA Regular season, conference and March madness;
•NCAA Football: NCAA Regular Season and Bowl Championship;
•Motorsport: NASCAR and Indy Car;
•Boxing: Friday Night Fights and Big Fights Boxing;
•X Games; and
•ESPN Films.

Still no NFL. . .:( :mad: :cry:

Watched NASCAR on SS6 the weekend.

OMFG what a farse, they show so many breaks, half the time you are watching a live feed of an empty track

I'm confused, are you complaining that they didn't have enough ad breaks?

errrr no

I imagine the US audience have ads playing during these non stop breaks. We on DSTV get to watch nothing but some random camera shot for the 2minutes the add break takes

So you're complaining that they're giving you the native stream over EPSN riddled ad content?
hmmm

I guess i am, im complaining about ESPN's p!s poor break/add riddled transmissions

They can be really annoying.
No doubt about that.

Watch the superbowl and you'll realize why they have so many ads.
I don't think US spectators have very long attention spans.

Imagine them sitting through a Cricket test match.

We are quite spoilt in SA with supersport's quality and almost no ads

Oh wait people still complain that they overcharge us
