For those that have been with virgin, would of noticed that when your airtime was 0 balance, you could still continue to use your phone for browsing and downloads - unlimited.

Its been like this since virgin started.

Well, it seems to have ended.

up to 50 kByte per connection is my experience then it dies.

I didn't really notice. It seemed to stop more or less at the appropriate time. If you connected again you would get say 15k, then reconnect and get 8k, then 4 and so on. So if you needed to post something that you had prepared, you could.

Speed is still mega-sloow and pages time out a lot. Never open more than 1 or 2 tabs - then it becomes sub-dialup!

Same here. That few kilobytes you could get saved me a few times. But there was a trick to it that did allow you to beyond that few kilobytes...I'll have to test it out again to see if it really died. . .
