No online streaming sound

All of a sudden I have no sound when playing files on youtube or any other online streaming. I'm using Firefox. Any ideas ??

Have you checked if there is an update to Adobe Flash Player?

I have the latest version installed. Sound works fine in Media Player it is just that suddenly there is no sound when doing online streaming.

What happens when you right click on the video? Or any other flash application? You should see a flash player settings dialog. Check that sound is not muted there.

Are you using vista or win 7? Click on the speaker in the icon tray (bottom right) and click mixer while streaming audio. You should see an entry for "Firefox plugin container" or something similar. It might be muted there. This has happened to me quite a few times.

What hardware are you using for your audio? Is it USB based? Unplug and plug the device into a different USB slot.
