I've got a weird issue that I haven't seen before.

I've just converted a few movies from .vob to .mkc files. I downloaded VLC to play the .mkv on my PC (which it does).

The problem is that it doesn't automatically associate the .mkv and VLC. I know that usually I can right click, select 'open with' and select the program. I can then say 'alway use ...'.

This works with EVERYTHING barring the .mkv! It doesn't have that 'open with' option and if I select 'open' and select VLC as the pgram of choice - the 'always use' is blacked out.

Any idea how to associate permanantly? Also any reason why its doing it?

Thanks

You need to change the file/application association.

Open windows explorer and go to tools->options then hit the file types tab. Change what file type is associated with which application there.

Cool ... will give it a bash at home!

Thanks :)
