Hi

i recently bought a car from a private seller, ok the guy gave me the cars register papers as the liscenec was behind i agrred to pay that but when i got to the municipality to do inquiry they said that the car has not been registered in someones name after the first owner took it of his name.

so my question is how can i get the car in my name and can i get the guy to deregister the car and then i can do the roadworthy and registration on my name the liscence is four years behind.

or should i just give back the car cause he sold me the car but its not even in his name.

One of our drivers was arrested when the car he bought was reported stolen in December. He owned the the car for 3 years, which he bought from a known salesman in the area. The oke never gave him any papers for the car or to prove the car was in his name.
