Hi guys

I recently had to reformat my pc and i reinstalled my modem etc but for the life of me i cannot get the red icon with the tick in the bottom of the screen unless i remove the modem from the usb port and plug it back in.
i have tried all my ports and this is the only port that works,
before i remove the modem i have checked to see if everything is loaded and it says modem loaded and operating correctly.

Any advice guys would be appreciated

Regards

More details would be helpful.

What operating system and service pack are you using?
What modem are you using?
What version software are you using?

As morkhans suggested, try the full version of VMC 9.3 if you can.

the info that i found was v2.2.2.1
huawei E220 HSDPA
I don't know where i see the software version, it just loaded when i plugged in the modem.

Windows xp professional SP2

I went to the download update and as i was downloading i noticed it said for Vista so i stopped.

Hope that will help guys and i do appreciate your time

Regards

You can upgrade to version 3. It has a number of improvements and works on XP and Vista.

Hi Morkhans

I downloaded the firmware update for the huawei E220 usb modem (HSDPA) downloads 6.24mb and ran the application and it searches for my modem and then tells me it cannot find it on this system.
As you can see it is there as i am currently writing this connected, have i made a mistake or do you know where i have gone wrong

Thanks again

Regards

There are 2 components, one is the firmware the other is the software. I was referring to the software update, but if the firmware update can't find the device the software update won't either.

Have you tried plugging it into another machine?

Hi again

No i haven't tried it in another machine, nut how can i be connected and it not find it, maybe i should try another usb port and try reloading it

when i start up my pc it appears in the remoce software dalogue box even though the red box is not present and the when i pull the modem out and replug it in the red box appears.
I also think this is what causing my pc to go blank sometimes and i then have to restart

thanks again

Did you try and run the updates while you were connected? You should disconnect first and then run them.
