No resolution to a 3 day ongoing issue

3 days ago I lost signal. The day after phoned customer care to be assured it had been escalated and it would have a24 hour to 48 hour turn around time. It's been well over that and still nothing I phoned your untrained staff who couldn't tell me why I hadn't been contacted and how it would be resolved.

I'm an online teacher losing money every hour I don't teach! I'm lucky I haven't lost my job due to this. Rain never responds to emails unless it's about them receiving payment!!! We pay for a service that falsly advertises uncapped and unthrottled. Also how can their not be a supervisor in the office !!

I cannot wait to cancel with rain and encourage as many people as possible to do the same because it really isn't worth it!!

Well, hats off to the @rain_mobile guy who responded above. You are not personally responsible for the network issues, and you're a credit to your organisation for picking up this issue. Hopefully you can help solve @Olly78's problem. Thanks for making the world a little better today.
No hats off to them got a call saying they don't know what the problem is and he would phone me again to no avail. They have cost me 14$ for every hour I can't teach!!

Geez, that's enough to make sure you always have a backup solution in place for connectivity.
 
I still don't understand how anyone relying on an internet connection for their income have no backup connection or plan. Why do people set themselves up for failure and then blame the ISP's for their lost of income?

Even if you do have a working ISP with good service. You should never only have one connection to rely on if it is your source of income.

Not to mention the OP probably has a smartphone and can setup a hotspot.

Look, I understand the frustration and by no means say these people are not incompetent. But like you said, blaming them for your loss of income if you have not bothered to use an alternative backup, is just stupid and not worth the self inflicted punishment.

Sure, if you are in an area with absolutely no other alternative, then it makes sense to a degree. But I doubt you will find rain only no better reliable alternatives for your income?

You can always use co-location spaces in a pinch. The coffee shop in my suburb actually rents out a room for that (but they only have one).
I suggest you look at something like https://workshop17.co.za/pricing which has reliable connections at all their locations!
 
If you're using Rain in the first place, chances are there is at least Fixed LTE from another network, ADSL or fibre available in your area. From what I can see of Rain's coverage maps, they mostly cover major metropolitan areas that are saturated with alternative connectivity options.

Why would someone pay for uncapped internet and pay for something else at the same time?? Seems pretty stupid to me. Looks like you don't understand the concept of money and that not everybody can afford 2 forms of internet so go troll someone else
 
From you guys contacting me another day late on top of the 3 days without service I now have the slowest "uncapped and unthrottled" data. Why should I pay for a service that is this bad?
