I recently purchased a new monitor BENQ and while trying to get it connected to my PC I get the "no signal detected" message. I have tried both the DVI and the HDMI cable and neither work. Sometimes it does start to work and goes as far as the Starting Windows splash screen but then goes black and displays the error message.

I have connected the monitor to my laptop via a DVI-to-mini HDMI cable and it work fine so don't think it is the monitor itself but rather the signal from the PC (as it is suggesting) that somehow "expires" ... it does start initially (sometimes) but then spits out the "no signal" issue

Any ideas please ...

Thanks
Vic

Hi Daruk,

Yes, I do have another monitor ... so let me check if I understand:
  1. Connect Other monitor
  2. Change that monitors resolution to a low res (like 1280 x 1024)?
  3. Then power down
  4. Connect new monitor
  5. If it then works ... look for driver of the new monitor
Is that correct?

Yes, 1280x720 60Hz will do.
