I ported to Cell C two years ago. I'm still having trouble receiving calls from certain people. A number of my friends & family have complained that they get a voice message saying: 'The number you have dialled does not exist'. I never turn my phone off & the reception here in Port Shepstone is perfectly fine!

I also have a problem receiving SMS's. I reported the fault to Customer Services on 10/02/2011 via email & for the two weeks I have not been able to send or receive SMS's at all! The biggest inconvenience of all is that I'm unable to do online banking as I am not able to receive my OTP numbers from FNB!

Cell C Technical Services have contacted me & had me change the call & message settings on my phone. I even de-activated the call barring. I'm still not receiving SMS's on my phone. It's very frustrating!

This is a HUGE inconvenience! Please can somebody help me?

They need to log a call for you to their MNP department. They will then request the other networks to update their routing tables. For some reason, it happens sometimes after you ported, the routing for your number gets screwed up.

Thanks for the prompt reply, ocleroux!

So who do I report it to Cell C Customer Services / Technical Services? I can't stand phoning their helpline... The guys on the other side of the line never sound very interested in my problems!

I honestly do not know who you need to report it to with Cell C. I just know that with us I send a mail containing the affected number, request that they instruct the other networks to update their routing and it gets done. I do not know what the Cell C procedure is. Soz
