Hi there
I (should) have Pure LTE on MTN service through Afrihost. Lately we (our whole town) has had endless periods of no MTN service. We have currently been off for at least 28 hours. Where can I find out what the problem is and what's being done to resolve it?

(Support Tickets aren't being responded to. WhatsApp person tells me to wait for someone to respond to the Support Ticket.)
(Edit: Support Ticket dates back to 31 January.)

Thank you AfriNatic. Though I don't see a reply either as a Private Message on MyBroadband, or as a reply in one of the tickets. Where did you send it?

Please can you send me a dm with your email address so I can have a look?

I might have confused you with another client. Apologies.

Good morning Afrihost,

My fibre went down this morning at 03:15, I logged a call with the Service desk and got a response at 5:20. After doing the reboots etc recommended, there was still no change - no broadband or service on the ONT. I am with Vumatel / SADV.

I was then told that there is an outage in the area - I don't see one listed on the network status change and I have not received a SMS from Vumatel informing me of the outage.
The response was a screenshot of the an outage NWI-14237, which occured on 9 Feb at 20:30. It lists a number of addresses - I don't see mine there - may not have shown all the addresses though.

As my line was working fine till this morning at 3:15, I don't believe that the fault being referenced is the one affecting me.

Unfortunately, the call centre is not going to investigate further till that fault is cleared and as the status is listed as repairs on hold, I forsee a long period without internet!

Please can you have a look from your end?

Thanks

AfriHost support is rubbish. You should know that before signing up.

Good morning.

My sincerest apologies for the issue at hand.
Please send me a PM with your email address, and we can log a fault with Vuma for an isolated fault.

Weird thing to say in a thread with reps actively helping people but anyway.
I've been involved in a discussion where they were actively involved in, and it moved over to DM, and assistance was poor.

@Bliksis Please see the below feedback from Vumatel. They are aware of the issue at hand and are working on implementing reliable backup power for the POP.
POP giving issues during load shedding

Port GigabitEthernet0/0/16 transceiver diagnostic information:
Parameter Current Low Alarm High Alarm

TxPower(dBm) -6.00 -11.00 -1.00 normal
RxPower(dBm) -10.62 -29.21 -1.00 normal

No. This is not the problem. Never mind. That issue was apparently resolved, and no feedback was given or updates given.

I've also now been told that I have an outstanding amount on my account, and my account is locked. Yet here I am, working.

I have queried that since last week, and an agent called Dineo has not responded for days.
