Hi folks

We are all glad Telkom responded to the problem regarding web space, but it has now been over two weeks since we have sent them the ‘general feedback’ letter and still have received no reply. Steven White promised feedback within a few working days (no longer than 5), and I must assume that no feedback is forthcoming.

MyADSL is actually doing Telkom a favour by grouping questions to which they only have to respond once. This alleviates much of the unnecessary strain on their 0800 and email feedback service. Communicating with your customers is a necessity, and MyADSL is no exception.

I suggest we inform the media about the current situation. We have grown a great deal since the first media blitz, and have some news to share. As ASF rightly pointed out it must be newsworthy. Please give your views on this matter as well as listing points you think might make a ‘media release’ newsworthy.

Thanks and regards,

RPM

Hi RPM,

Still no feedback from Telkom!? Isn't it time we take a more aggressive action? ...It looks like they're still just blowing us off as a minority.

I reckon we should do like another member posted and run the program that constantly refreshes their website, 600 or so people doing that should bring it to a standstill....mmmm...slow telkom site, maybe then they will see how it feels to browse with ADSL.[}:)]

Hi Frikv

I did inform the media about the situation, and I hope they will publish some articles about the current situation. Peopod is also busy with an ICASA complaint, and we hope that will have an impact as well. Any other suggestions?

A work collegue had an excellent suggestion:

Basically we must try buy/persuade a MAJOR South African internet portal (24.com ?) to post a poll regarding Telkoms ADSL implementation.

Currently we are not reaching enough ADSL users to make a dent in the tough hide of Telkom, if we utilise another sites attraction to gauge the general feelings of ADSL users we can use the poll as amunition and gauge the validity of aggresive advertising of MyADSl vs costs.

Additionally I believe a lot of work is required to make MyADSL the ADSL portal in South Africa - where users can get info, links ect ect and not have the actual forum be our main attraction.

Hi ASnogarD

This is an excellent idea.

In the interview with SACM they asked about the claims (satisfaction percentage) made by Telkom, and this will definitely add credibility to our claims and give us exposure. Any suggestions about the sites to contact or route to follow from you guys?

Hi RPM,

How about we put up posters advertising MyADSL at Telkom offices/service centres nationwide? This is a cheap advertising campaign and we can put up new posters every month as we go to pay telephone bills.

Maybe you can put a uniform poster on this website that all users can download, print & put up ... everywhere we go! What do you guys think?..... just a thought! [;)]

Yeahs, the idea of a uniform poster sounds like a good idea. Maybe Even an online partition could be voiced through this site as well?

Similar to a guestbook, but, whoever is unhappy with the telkom ADSL service could just put their username and name or something?
