No Vodacom or Cell C

um yeah i was not really affected at all by this major shutdown as GPRS and SMSs still worked and i dont make peak phonecalls. all i can think of to say is this is the first time i have ever heard of the entire vodacom network being down. and i believe it is a sign of things to come. vodacom, and infact all the networks need to get together and put plans in action to ensure this never happens again. telecommunications is vital for any country, and when over 20 million people are disconnected it is a very serious cause for concern. so i urge the networks to get together and invest in the future. spend as much as you have to. stop sponsoring the soccer and rugby and spend it on delivering the best service possible.
Sponsoring is BIG BUSINESS

ok well tell that to the 20million people who couldnt make phone calls. i hope you have life insurance.

Wonder if this will occur again when lots of ppl are going to use their handsets to view Vodafone Live content....

The data and SMS network was still running, so its on the telephony side of things. Strange though that Cell C can bring down the entire Cell C network.

I was on a phone call at the time the network collapsed and the receiver on the call (Telkom Line) said it sounded like I was attacked by a lazer gun from Star Wars.
