I have 4/5 year old P4 pc. Still going strong. No intention to replace it

My proble is this noisy cpu fan. Very noisy, it sounds like a siren and it's so irritating.
I couldn't spell "siren" and checked my dictionary and the first definition of siren was "A woman who is considered to be dangerously seductive" :p

Anyway, do I clean the fan or replace it?

LOL... sounds like my wife! "Hi siren, I'm home..." :D

Try cleaning the fan first - damp cloth or screen-wipes. Use some compressed air to get the dirt out from the bearings - it should be fine for a few more months...if it runs "rough" try some silicone lubricating spray (can get from Builders Warehouse, etc)

Otherwise, replace it - what are the fan dimensions? 40x40mm, 50x50mm, etc... fans are pretty cheap these days. Is the fan mounted to the heatsink with clips or screws?
Maybe post a picture so we can see which one you might need :)
