Nokia 5130 goes cookoos

My friend have a nokia 5130 expressmusic..the browser stopped worked..mxit disappeard and all weird stuff...

So i plug it into my pc and run nokia software updater, update 100% , but the phone is STIL the same , same problems and all... even MTN *123# to get settings dont work..tells application failed...

And now when i try install a program like opera mini via PC Suite the phone restarts it self...

How can we fis it if the NEWEST FIRMWARE UPDATE dont even fix it?

Sounds like a faulty flash chip, obviously not user replaceable as it is a microBGA device!

A full flash (not the Nokia update service as this usually only updates MCU & PPM files leaving the content file alone) and factory reset will usually restore the device for a while. It will however fail again once the corrupt memory gets used again!

Leaving MXit off the phone is not a bad move. I have two customers who have done this and their phone still work!
