NOKIA 5800 Tips Tricks & Apps Thread.....

If you really want to get the Navigator theme then you will have to choose British Isles Navi.

Here you go:

0586573 :: British Isles Navi

Very nice simple theme and fast, I do believe that this is used on the Navigator version of the 5800.

So I just got a universal phone holder, stuck it on my windscreen and there is my Navigator Nokia 5800 ;)

Pity the Navigation is not for life though :(

Guess Garmin will have to do and also does a splendid job :p

Here are my updated screenshots

Plain = Black wave. Lovely - although the new Maemo5 theme from tehkseven is also really nice.

Tried a reset - 2, in fact. Trying OVI Suite now, perhaps it can do something I can't.

Could you take a screenshot of your theme/homepage?

This is the standard nokia theme right?

Did anyone notice that if you change the Product code again and you choose to reinstall the firmware it doesn't download anything, it just starts to install the firmware but when it's done then you have the new/different theme on your phone.

For instance I updated with a "red" product code and my theme was red.

I then updated with a "black" product code and my theme was black.

I'm busy updating now with the "navigator" product code so let's see what happens...........................

And it worked. I now have the Navigator theme.

LOL, so now you have the choice of Blue, Red, or Navigator (Silver) :D

And Black?

Wonder if we can download the standard themes seperately

Hey not a problem at all, more than willing to help any other tube owners out there, i try and test as much stuff as possible on the phone, your next step is to get your developer certificate so you can sign your own apps. I've got alot of apps that i'm sure you would like to try out.

I will be honest and say i do download the full apps and test them, if i like them i then buy them (Profimail, MyPhone, Adobe Reader etc)

Haha! OVI Suite, though slow and clunky, did the job. My Music is visible again! <phew>

Now this app looks amazing, will see if i can find the full version so i can test if it works on the 5800, if it works, i'm definitely going to get this :) :)
Looks cool yeah, but more than R80! Forget it. Something like this: http://symbianv3.com/nokia-multiscanner-recognize-texts-with-camera/ looks handy too, doesn't work on my 5800 though...
