NOKIA 5800 Tips Tricks & Apps Thread.....

It should have a 24month warranty. Take it to your Service Provider.

Find the closest Nokia Service Centre to you and take it there, thats all your service provider is going to do anyway :)

Just not sure if the warranty will cover any item that has fallen but i stand corrected

Gravity sets the standard for Twitter apps on ALL mobile devices

Even though Nokia is the worldwide leader in the mobile market, there has not been a single non-Java Twitter client available while the iPhone has several of them. That all changed dramatically today when Gravity was released. I loaded up Gravity on my new Nokia 5800 XM NAM device during my morning train commute and find it to even be better than any Twitter client I have tried on the iPhone. If you use Twitter and have a S60 device, this software is a must have application. There is a free 10-day trial with the full version coming in at $9.95.

Kinetic scrolling is supported on the 5800 and upcoming Nokia N97 so the experience is quite enjoyable. I actually find Gravity to be one of the most pleasant applications to use on my 5800.

So what's your favourite games for the 5800 at the moment?

I enjoy Asphalt 4 and Scrabble. Skyforce Reloaded Lite has also been a fun demo. I wanna try out the full version as some stage though.

My wife also has a 5800 and loves SPB Puzzle. I'm trying to find a decent Soduko game for her. Any suggestions?

Texas Hold Em

Get Platinum Sudoku for her, Gameloft were giving it away free on OviStore

I'll have a look. I have to be honest, I don't spend much time browsing OVI anymore - there's so much rubbish to wade through in order to get at the good stuff. The rating system does not seem to help either.

Opera Updates Mini 5 and Mobile 10 to Beta 2

Opera, probably the best known third party browser on the symbian platform keeps getting better by the day! After releasing the first beta of Opera Mini 5 and Opera Mobile 10 in early November, Opera has now released beta 2 of the two browsers, in just under a month. Somebody is losing sleep over enhancing the browsing experience on our 5800s!

There have been a lot of bug fixes from the earlier beta 1 version along with the addition of download manager and opera link- the legendary Opera service which syncs bookmarks, and browser settings across desktop and mobile browsers. This is one of our favorite features and we are so glad that the beta 2 has now incorporated this into both Mobile 10 and Mini 5.

What we like?

1. Opera Link
2. Download Manager
3. Faster page rendering

What we don’t like?

1. Virtual keyboard kinda buggy (opened a non-English keyboard a couple of times during our testing)

Verdict

Opera seem to be pushing their browsers into the very competitive browser market with not one but two entries. Mini 5 and Mobile 10 are no doubt one of the better browsers available on the symbian platform today and are getting better with time. We are sure that the final releases will be much more robust and bug free from the present beta versions. If you want a seamless browser, experience, you gotta get the latest beta 2 versions of the browsers from Opera.

How to install?

Just point your mobile browsers to m.opera.com
