hacked so that is bypasses the system security and u can install what u want with neva having any certificate expired issues...

furthermore it will allow u to view the phones system/private folders and customize the phone further...such as change icons,icon text,change startup screen & sound..install apps that is locked done to specif models etc...

basically its "jailbreaking" at a time way before Apple made iPhones...and goes back to the 1st S60 V3 phones...:D
 
How do I customise the homescreen? Can I only have 4 shortcuts or 4 contacts and a search on the homescreen? Whats the rest of the homescreen for?

Yes, you have 3 options for the homescreen:
1) 4 contacts
2) 4 apps
3) nothing

I have found that if I have 4 apps as my homescreen.

The rest of the homescreen is used for:
1)Calender entries
2)Currenly Playing (Music Player)
 
In addition to the 4 apps, search, I also have latest email notification, since running latest firmware update 30.0.0.11

so how does one hack their phone?
step by step process maybe? :)
 
When will Vodacom make the newer firmware available??? They're still on v21.0.025. I know I can change my product code, but that will make my warranty void, right? Are there any other risks in changing my phone's product code?
 
Slingshot, are you saying that Voda hasn't even released v30 yet for you guys??

Is there not a nokia store somewhere in Cape Town? Get them to debrand your phone.

EDIT: Gotta update the damn updater first :mad: 24MB NSU update in the pipeline, let's see if that gets me the next phone update...

OK. Updater updated. PC restarted. Planets aligned. Still no update. Meh.

Someone else can try later. Please let us know when it's ready...

Is it just me or is it bloody frustrating that they dont improve the home screen? I love my 5800 but when i look at the WM & Android devices, our homescreens are absolutely crap.
