Anyone got one of these? any good and how does it compare to iphone?

:)

Colleague sitting next to me has one.

Very loud speaker.

Nice looking phone - I don't know anything else about it though.

@Shake&bake
MTN or Vodacom or bought privately?

Ooh eish - cockup from me sorry guys, just realised it's not the 5800 Xpress that he has, it's some older Nokia music phone :o

Don't keep tabs on Nokia's, so just mistook his handset for the one under discussion :o
My bad...

Ok. After bouncing around from number to number i eventually spoke to the stock controller at MTN and apparantly the 5800 will be released on packages in April only.

just spoke to autopage and so far still no ETA on the 5800..

if it is gonna be released april in SA then thats almost the same time the N97 will be released in the UK i think.. stil the N97 will ony be here around end of the year and thats being optimistic....

i think i will wait for the 5800 as well.. so far there isnt another phone that appeals to me anyway...

i like the iPhone's display but just too lacking in features.. its a real bummer or i would've gotten one of those..

thanks for the heads up tho bro!

Thanks for the info guys, i thought it was already available. Will wait a bit then :)

I personally can't wait for the 5800 either. I wanted the iPhone due its Apple-ness but it lacks too many features that I require, so then I thought Omnia, but that's for business, so I can't wait for this! Any idea on a pre-paid price, so as to give me an idea on a price for contract per month. I am hoping I can get it on a Weekend Everyday without a pay-in.

Tried the i-phone, it's not all it's cut out to be..

No mms

No video calls

Mandatory I-Tunes

No decent navigation

If i import one of these puppies from the UK, it should work fine on our networks here hey? They are so cheap over there i bet that even when it is released here it will be more expensive than importing. South Africa seems to always overprice these types of things... especially when they are designed to be cheap!

Yeah, if anything it'll just have to be unlocked which isn't difficult. And yeah, it'll be WAY cheaper, but I would rather get a contract locally than pay a pre-paid price.
