Nokia 6110 Navigator

This car kit supports such a large number of Nokia models, it's hard to believe that the 6110 Navigator is excluded.

Test your car kit with someone else's 6110 Navigator.

my first thought was that bluetooth is bluetooth, and why would they not make it compatible. I know the cable won't fit so I will not be able to charge the phone like I do with my 6230.

I asked the vendor if I could try it but he said no! the boxes are sealed. So if there is someone close to me that is willing to try the experiment. please let me know.

I can confirm that the 6110 Navigator DOES NOT work with the CK-7W car kit :(

It works, but there is loads of echo for the person calling you. There is a lot of info on the Nokia forums with people complaining.

Thats lame, I have used Sony-ericssons and motorolas with my ck-7w so how can they develop a phone that doesnt work with their own hardware? Nokia disconnecting people!

thanks for clearing that up. really diappointing. guess I will stick with the 6230 awhile longer.

hard to belive they did that. do they think we will all just rush out and buy new car kits??? maybe we should do what they did to DIGG.COM bombard them (nokia) with email complaints till their serves crash.

NEVER MIND " FRACK TELKOM " - " FRACK NOKIA "

Who needs to buy a carkit if you have a radio with a front Aux input? I use my N95 with mine. Just get a cable, 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack and as soon as your phone ring you enable the Aux input on your radio press answer on your phone and you have a car kit.

Works with my 6110 Nav as well. Just bought a 3.5mm - 2.5mm converter.

nokia6110 navigator & ck-7w car kit update

After been undecided  for a few months due to the perceived problem whether the nokia ck-7w car kit will work properly with the nokia 6110 navigator or not I decided to go and pick up my new nokia 6110 navigator upgrade phone, seen that I was paying for the damn thing. Thanks to the mtn shop it was a breeze, walked in – signed - registered online - walked out, all within 35mins.

I have tested the phone in my beamer with the ck-7w car kit for a week now and I can tell you this………..

IT WORKS PERFECT!

In fact, it works better than my old 6230, the sound is way better. Even the gps voice is loud and clear through the car kit; actually the sound on this phone is quite remarkable.

Maybe I’m just lucky or maybe my car kit was installed better than others or the fact that I have a JVC car system or maybe that I'm using the radio speakers and not the speaker supplied by the car kit – who knows? All I can say is IT WORKS! The pairing from the phone to the ck-7w was done in secouds just typed in the ck-7w password (0000) and they are now best of buddies.

Ok so you cannot charge the phone or power the navigator with the ck-7w kit unless someone has a hack for the kit??, so be careful otherwise u will run out of power very quickly. There are stand alone nokia car chargers / cradles out there that one can use.

if anyone, in the Cape Town area, wants to check out my setup contact me and I will sms my gps co ordinates to u - find me if u can :D

have a great holiday :) and don't forget to set yr speed alarms :D

Whats your take on the 6110?

Its one of the phones I'm contemplating getting?

It's my first slider phone so I'm still getting used to it. coming from an older 6230 I found the screen / sound to be a big improvement. Also I don't suffer the dropped calls / call time limit / network busy / network unavailable/ (and my personal favourite) sms could not be sent, crap that I had before with the 6230, so that's a plus.

the phone is a delight to use, the design, the look is neat & attractive. although the screen shows up finger prints to easily but that's cause it's a tft screen with a black background (so I'm told). the camera / video is very good compared to the 6230, also has a zoom function

the gps is simply awesome, but then I like electronic gadgets :D I have my work route programed in and this morning it decided to route me on the N7 / N1 instead of the usual Plattekloof / N1 route? then I realised that i had set the "As fast as possible" setting, and it must have recalculated the route taking into account the reduced traffic on the N7 / N1 route, interesting?
it uses a std usb cable (supplied this time) which makes loading stuff a breeze. it can read pdf / all MS documents. the usual fax / email / web etc.

no doubt I will discover more intersting functions as I get used to it

all in all very happy with it :) specialy now that it works in my car and I don't have to fork out more clams to upgrade that side of the equation.

Sorry that this is so old...

The 6110 does seem to work with the CK-7w... on your side, but ask the person who phones you how it sounds - they hear a very distinct echo of their own voice.

Appearently it is the firmware on the 6110 that is not compatible... maybe they will release an update... My phone is using firmware V 3.58

Edit - Just checked - V4.22 is available, but it does not fix the CK-7w echo problem :(

never really had a complaint but most people assume it's the cell phone service anyway. they not far wrong with that either :D

I no longer use the ck7w as i installed a jvc kd-avx33 car radio / usb / divx / dvd player which has better cell phone features like scrolling through yr phonebook - on screen sms display - 6 preset numbers

However I do have a gripe about the voice dialing on the 6110 (99.9%). Unless i got it all wrong the 6110 has only got synthesized voice tags?? not so??

where as the 6230 had human voice recorded tags and was much more accurite than the 6110. when i use the voice dialing on the 6110 it gets confused and dials a different number and it no longer repeats the name, so u can check if it's right  ergo call wasted

Has anyone experienced this?

Is there a way to record a human voice tag on the 6110 navigator?
