How do i know if my phone's EDGE is active? The specs says my phone is EDGE capable but i havent ever experienced EDGE speeds.

The phone will automatically choice the fasted available technology

If your area is covered by GPRS/EDGE then it should automatically select EDGE

How have you checked if you're getting EDGE or not are you using a online Broadband speed tester or what?

Im in the Brackenfell Area in Northern Suburbs in Cape Town, as far as my knowledge is there should be edge here. Havent done any speed test, but speed at which certain application take and web browsing i can assure u its not EDGE

I don't understand have you experienced EDGE before?

How do you know it's not EDGE do you have anything to base it on? Does it not say Y'ello broadband or does it not have a E or G or what?

Please advise ASAP?
