Nokia 820 Availability

Hi all,

For all those interested it seems that Vodacom and CellC will only have stock of the phone towards the end of Dec(CellC) and mid Jan(Voda).
I spoke to the Stock Rooms at both Head Offices and this is what they told me

Asked the Nokia consultant/assistant at my MTN store here and he said that it will be available from Feb. Reason for the delay according to him is that there are still too much 800/900 lumia's in stock.

"Reason for the delay according to him is that there are still too many 800/900 lumia's in stock", and they're going to try con as many people (fools?) into buying phones running the older Windows 7.5, or a derivation thereof, which can't be upgraded to Win 8.

Ockie I know that what the brochure said and that's why I was a little pissed when I heard that I should realistically only expect it in Jan as people aren't really working nowadays.
Alternative he said was to call the stock room and bug them every day to find out when stock has arrived.

Mini-Update- : Vodacom mailed me today and said a couple batchs of 820's will be released and I just have to tell them where to deliver mine.
