Nokia 9300 GPRS connection problems

My friend has a Nokia 9300 with prepaid. I tried to set it up to bwrose the internet, but keep on getting message that GPRS is not subscribed to. How do you subscribe to use GPRS data if you are on prepaid? I thought this subscription is automatic?!

Maybe someone had the same problem with this phone?

I have also received this (misleading) message once or twice. It may just be that there is a problem with the network or base station at that moment.
 
Depedinding on how long he has the prepaid contract it has happened that some sim cards have not been provisioned with it. I also know there was a range of these cards at one stage that could not be provisioned for it.

Call 155 and ask them to activate it and check if it is activated from the Prepaid phone. There is a different helpdesk for Prepaid and Contract.
