I've recently installed a MetroFibre line at my place and it came with a Nokia Beacon 2 router.

I want to use the EasyMesh feature with addiotnal units but MF don't have these availble for purchase/ rent and cannot point me in the direction of a local provider.

I've searched everywhere I can think of: Google Shopping, Takealot, Amazon US, Amazon UK, BoB, Incredible etc. and simply cannot find a unit for purchase!!!

Anyone know where I can get one? I've seen a post from early 2023 with a similar issue and no resolution.

Some vendors like Nokia and Calix etc, release Service provider only solutions, which means that they are not available to end users.

Thanks for the response, Kyoto/ Hadn't considered that as a possibility. Will investigate further and post a response back here if I manage to establish availability/ reason. The two Nokia offices in ZA don't have the correct listed numbers so it's been a challenging investgation...

Could you not just buy the Beacon 3 version and set it up?
the technicians i spoke to told me that that the specific Beacon 2 device I've been provided is registered on the network, and is the only router that will work of the network cable from my ONT, in ny account/line.

if this is true (I'm 50/50 on this claim and will be testing soon), then I will have to disable the WiFi in the Beacon 2, and plug a Beacon 3 to it (wired) and then the Beacon 3 network will work albwit with one redundant B2, and this actually their latest proposal... but then he goes further and then says go ahead with just any Mesh Network router at this point (TP Link is the proposal)

this creates a UPS issue for me having 3 devices that need to stay up for one node to function when the power is out! however, this is indeed my last recourse option... thanks for the suggestion! there is one plus here is that Beacon 3 can have 4 nodes where's 2 is restricted to 3.

will post final findings...

If you have the pppoe user name and password, just get your preferred mesh solution and enter these into it, worked for me. They just won't provide support if your not using thier router

noted. thanks, Kyoto!

FYI, MetroFibre will soon be making additional Beacon 2's available for a mesh network (along with a UPS per device).
