Finally Nokia reminds us just why they are the best, the upcoming N-Series will set standards for all future phones.

Now if Vodacom can be decent enough to get these phones out in South Africa when they are released and not 6 months later due to "network compliance" I will be very very happy.

V3G, how bout a N91 test unit for me? ;)

No problem!, just the one? :)

The time to release a new phone is a function of a few factors, including:

1) Date the local vendor decides to release the phone in South Africa.
2) For VLive! phones, date received from Vodafone.
3) Testing procedures. If no problems are found, it's 2-3 weeks. If there are problems, it needs to go back to the supplier.
4) If it pass and it's decided to distribute the phone, it must go through the distribution process.

So, if everything goes smoothly, it's a couple of weeks.

lol, yeah just one.

Well I really hope that there are no problems with the phone. I am due for an upgrade in November and it would perfect timing.

Hows Vodacom doing with PTT?

The network is ready for PTT and we have successfully trailed it. The whole environment is not standardised yet with interoperability a problem, i.e. one vendor's PTT server won't necessarily work with another vendor's handsets.

Handset availability is still an issue.

I've started a new thread on PTT.
