Nokia E52 and Nokia E72

Remember the easiest way to benefit from 'new sign-up only' deals is to not give notice to end your contract. Wait for the end date to come, go to a Vodacom outlet the very next day and tell them you wish to convert to prepaid. That'll take about 4 to 24 hours to complete. You know it's done because you get a "Welcome to Voda4U blah blah" sms. Then go to the outlet that's got the offer you want, sign up a new contract and tell them you wish to use your existing prepaid number for the new contract. Usually means you don't have to pay the sim card fee on signup either.
Works even better if you have more than one contract number in your name and you do each one individually. Your vodacom account stays open and there is no waiting/credit checks when you sign the new contract as you already have an active Vodacom account.

Can't seem to find any details on the Nokia E52 on the vodacom website. Link anyone?

Constant shifting of arival time for E72 getting decidedly irritating. Been promised "next week" every week since the end of August. What's Nokia doing?? Is the phone buggy or what?

I'm convinced that the department in Vodacom responsible for testing and releasing Nokia phones and software updates is the bottleneck. The whole world get software updates, and Vodacom sits and waits. Nokia release a new phone, and Vodacom can't tell you when they'll have it for release, and even try to blame Nokia. If you phone Nokia, they will tell you that the the phone is released and available to ship to Vodacom, but they are waiting for Vodacom to approve the phone.

And Vodacom actually believe that they are going to find problems serious enough to prevent release of the phones (or software) that no-one else has?
