Nokia E71 Mail for Exchange Unable to connect

Hi,

I am trying to set up Nokia E71 phone (mail for exchange) to sync with my work mail. All settings is the same as work college
with the same phone (except for mail account name and password of course). We are both Vodacom.

His works perfectly, but I keep getting "Unable to connect to server" error when I try to sync. On the mail server side all permissions etc have been double checked and are correct.

I could only assume its a problem with my phone. Maybe firmware or something.

Anybody had or having the same problem. Any suggestions?

I suggest you open a browser session on the phone connecting via the same APN as the one the Email will use. See if you can browse 1 or 2 sites. While keeping the browser in the background, go to MFE and try again.

I've opened Google.com in the background and tried it again. Same error.

Could it be that the soft/firmware on the phone is outdated? How would I be able to check the version of current software?

Thanks, checked it and it is older version. Will get that sorted and try again.
