Nokia launches OVI application store

The phone version (formally Download) has been launched in OZ yesterday and in the UK today. Cant wait for SA one to go LIVE!

E71 OviStore Application

Its Official

Go to ovi.store on your phone (web), choose the download Ovi Store Application (you need an Ovi Account), sign in and proceed to download the application, its over 3mb in size.

Download and install, boot your phone, then go to the Installation folder (the default folder where all downloaded applications goes to) on your phone - there is the Ovi Store Application, launch it, accept T&Cs, u up and running!!!

(Now, if only I can uninstall the old Download application)

This is tested on my E71.

Vodafone UK users (like me) will want to download the Ovi Application because Voda's web compression technology basically renders the Ovi mobile website unusable. I got caught in an infinite loop of options to use an insecure or secure connection on my N82.
Is that why you need to load it on your phone?
