Please help.
Don’t know if I'm just being stupid or there is something not lekka with my N73.
My voice commands do not work.

If I press the button for a voice command, it says that there is no voice tags saved.
If I go into he voice command application (Which should create the voice tags on opening), I cant playback the voice tags, its give a 'voice system error' error message.

Is there something that is not set up properly? In the voice command settings, the synthesizer is 'on'?

Also, I don’t have voice tags on my contacts??

WTF is wrong?

My N80 also does not have voice tags. This is by design, the phone will react to a voice name call by trying to find the one one it thinks you mean. If you set a nickname it will use that, so by choosing something it interprets well, it will call the person.

Hope this helps.

I think GJO refers to the "Voice.Comm" application for launching other applications (Not the Contacts voice command). That Voice.Comm app is for creating voice commands for other applications. It comes with 'Profiles, Voice mailbox, Bluetooth, Voice recorder and Camera' pre-voice tagged (N80). But you can add other applications as well.

If you want to manually add contacts voice tag, I'm afraid you cant (or let me say I don't know whether its possible). Like Bekdik mentioned above, the N80's (I'm assuming that this is also the case with the N73) contacts voice tags are all automatically pre-recorded (bear with my English here). This means that depending on the contacts names you have stored, if you press and hold the Right-Soft-Key from Standby mode you will get a Voice Prompt. Then you should say whatever contacts name you wish to dial and the phone will try to match that with the contacts stored.

Bear in mind that this is also synched with the "Say Caller's Name" feature under Profiles!!!

Hope this helps

Both of you are correct, and that is where my problems are.
I cant load my applications with a voice command. And I also cant call a contact with a voice command.

1. If I press the button for a voice command (Right-Soft-Key from Standby
mode ), it says that there is no voice tags saved.
2. If I go into he voice command application (Which create the voice
tags for these applications on opening), I cant playback the voice tags, its
give a 'voice system error' error message.

Also with the contact, you should be able to playback the automatic voice tag that the has on that contact. But I dont have an option to playback the tag once I am on the contact name???

I just dont know what is wrong here?
I've set up my profile for when my phone rings, it reads back the contacts name. And this works.

Is there no other setting to for voice commands to activate it??

Now that sounds like a software/Firmware problem, especially when you get the 'Voice system error' message. I can only refer you to a Nokia Service Centre.

Do you know a few swear words in Finish? That may wake the phone up :D

OK, phoned Nokia and AutoPage. Both said that it sound like an software issue and that I must bring in the phone in for a upgrade.

I did consider doing the upgrade myself. I seeing that the phone is not even a week old I'm thinking of taking it to them to upgrade. Would you guys recommend to do it self using NSU????

I have exactly the same problem and mine is only a few weeks old. I'm taking mine in for the upgrade this weekend.
