any one else had problems with this phone? continuous software freezes, failing speaker... sound familiar?

Common Nokia problems...
Try *0000# try and update the software... if that dont work get it repaired.

Common nokia problems? Symbian is not Nokia and Nokia is not Symbian. To say 'that is a Nokia problem' is like saying 'my 6 months old toshiba vista laptop freezes and crashes regularly' - It must be a common Toshiba problem. My advice is - take the handset to a nokia dealer and ask for a firmware flash. If the problems are still there, ask for a replacement. With the Symbian OS just like with windows, problems can have many causes ! Remember Symbian, in its different incarnations, is the second most used OS on Earth ! Windows with all its derivatives been the first. Symbian is catching up though. The s60 os is more used then vista (xp wins it for now). How is that for a change? All the other os's on Earth combined, does not even come close to the above 2.

did all latest firmware updates... knowing nashua, i wont get a replacement and it would probably be alot cheaper just buying a new phone... it will take 4 weeks to repair and even then it is not prommised to work properly! shoulda gone with my gut feeling and got the w910i

Yes, you should have. I too prefer supporting small companies just to give some competition to the giants out there. Unfortunately s60 and windows are already to deeply entranced in my life. Go for it
