Nokia N79 - GPS Issue

Hi all,

I recently got a N79 on contract. I'm very happy with the phone in general. The GPS also works great, but every time I want to use it I have to activate it all over again. Anyone had similar experience, and maybe found a way around it?

Wouldn't having the GPS on the whole time kill your battery?

It should only take a few seconds to lock on (provided you haven't moved super super far from were you used it last). By the time I have clicked where I want to go (eg 'Home' in Garmin Mobile), the gps is locked on and ready to go.

You could always leave the nokia position (or your mapping program) app open in the background all the time. That will keep the gps going. The irrating thing with garmin mobile, is that even if the phone is on silent, that flipping voice will go 'lost satellite reception' if you go somewhere where it can't pick up the satellites. People then look at you funny.
