Nokia N8 - more camera details emerge from interview

Basically the following specs were dropped :

• Sensor size is 1/1.83"
• Lens is wide angle 28mm
• Xenon flash has same output as N82 (which rocked!)
• No lens cover
• No variable aperture like N86
• Mechanical shutter
• Sensitivity can go up to ISO 1200
• Macro mode from 10cm
• 720p video at 25fps using H.264 compression at 9mbit/s
• Stereo audio using AAC at 128 kbits/sec with 48kHz sampling
• No continuous auto focus in videos
• HDMI output will be 1280x720 with 5.1 sound
• Nokia N8 battery locked like an apple
• Bluetooth 3.0 is onboard
• The rest of the phone is equally as good as the camera

The phone is set to be released in Q3 2010 so the only thing you will see before you can say windows-mobile-7-can't-multitask or andriod-can-only-now-install-apps-on-memory-cards? or i-phoned-while-doing-the-jailhouse-rock, is more spec leaks and hype talk. But rest assured it will be worth it, with comparisons being made to the N82 (greastest camera phone evar) you know the N8 will be Gr8.

I have a camera, but this is better than most cameras and it is always with you. So you never miss that awesome shot because you are fumbling around to find you "standalone camera". Go do some reading up on mobile photography, its becoming quite a booming hobby.

If I was the type to form my opinion solely on hands-off information I'd have to say what a mediocre camera it would make.

Yes, if you compare it with standalone camera that is. If you compare it with other phones then it starts too look like a Hasselblad
