Nokia N8 or Galaxy S which one? Go!

by swop you mean upgrade time or with a friend or what? If upgrade then I recommend you go for the SE Arc instead otherwise you'll be majorly disappointed with the Camera (even then you lose 4MP).
 
If the N8's camera is not extremely important to you, I'd seriously consider the swop if I were you. The Galaxy S is supposed to be a great phone and you can't go wrong with Android. I can't wait to make the switch to Android myself ;)
 
What sucks about Samsung?

Okay maybe Touchwiz, but in my opinion the SGS is better than the N8. It was also voted the European Smartphone of the year.
 
+1 to the SGS, get rid of TouchWiz ( with launcherPro or ADW ) and you're sorted for life.

Still doesn't struggle with anything, I'll likely hold on to it for another 12 months
 
If you're looking for a multimedia device (12MP cam and Xenon flash, HDMI-out with 5.1 channel surround sound, FM transmitter, USB-on-the-go), keep the N8. If you're after apps, go Galaxy S...

Personally, I would rather have an N8. It will be updated to symbian belle soon which, by all accounts is a vast improvent over previous Symbian versions.

Still, will it be better than Android? I'd rather choose the OS that's rapidly taking over the smartphone market than the one that's, most would agree, on the brink of extinction. Personally, I can't wait to get rid of my Symbian phone.

I'm a huge fan of Google but for some reason I've never really taken to Android. Not sure why, maybe I haven't spent enough time with it. I think Symbian belle will be really great, and I don't think it's on the brink of extinction anymore, although I know Nokia smart phones are moving to Windows (their other phones will still be Symbian, I think). Phones, for me, have a lifespan of 2 years before I want a new one - symbian will be supported for that long anyway, so I'm not too worried. Only thing I agree with though is that there are some apps I would like which aren't available for Symbian. Anyway, it's a personal thing I guess - I'm still waiting for the Nokia N9, with it's even more extinct-before-it-was-even-born OS, so perhaps I'm not the best voice of reason here!

After the amount of time it took for Anna to come out i wouldn't hold my breath for Belle till at least next year March.

FM Transmitter is not the best of quality, better to just use AUX port. Only used HDMI and USB on the go once, and it was at the same time (Just showing off really :p). And the battery life is not better. I say they are about on par. The N8 has better standby battery though.
 
I can't speak with benefit of having used N8, but am using the SGS for 6 months now and really enjoying it. The battery life on your N8 is probably better. I use the phone primarily for work and private email, web browsing, forumming, app shopping, SNS'ing, news/rugby updates. Not thrilled with the uncomfortable headset, but the standard music player really good. Gorgeous screen. Not too sure why some say Samsung sucks. Not my experience at all. If they're referring to Touchwiz, I have to disagree - I actually like it (gasp! yes! I said it.)

You must be doing something wrong, I've never thought the quality of the FM transmitter was poor. It hands-down beats audio transmission via Bluetooth with all of its synch/timing issues. Plus, not every car has an AUX port or Bluetooth. What can the SGS do that the N8 can't do? I'm curious... :D They both seem like great devices.
