Hey everyone
I need some help and hope someone can help.
I have the Nokia N80 Internet Edition, and it's an ok phone. My problem comes when I try to use the USB connection cable at home.
The moment I plug it in, and select Mass Storage as the mode, Windows throws up a message along the lines of "The device has Malfuntioned. Please try again" Under Device Manager I just have an Unknown Device under USB Controllers. Deleting that and plugging the phone back in doesn't help.
I've tried using the cable that came with the phone, and the cable from my old 6680, to no avail. The 6680 picks up no problem with either cable. At work on newer Pentium 4's and Core 2's with USB 2, either phone picks up using either cable.
Maybe it's because my home pc is so old (A Pentium 3, 2 USB1 ports, Windows XPSP2) and doesn't like the fact that it's USB2 even though it's supposed to be backwards compatible with USB1.
I'll try again later when I'm home. Otherwise I'll have to live till my new pc is built, that has USB2. Bluetooth is so slow to copy files or even make a phone backup.
I tried searching the Nokia site but no real luck.
Thanks
