As far as first impressions go, ugly is the word that comes to mind when first looking at Nokia's N82 phone. Its bulk and the tiny buttons do not make the N82 the most aesthetically pleasing Nokia phone.

But what the N82 lacks in looks it makes up for in an abundance of features. Its 5-megapixel camera, along with its Xenon flash, makes it a top-of-the-range camera phone. It even comes with a jack that allows it to connect to a TV.
Trendy new features include a GPS and a music player, but Nokia also looked to the past and brought back old favourites like the radio and its game, Snakes. Another software feature is its Adobe reader. Now you can read e-mail attachments on your phone.
The GPS works well, but I had some problems with the music player, which insisted on uploading 153 songs but played only one - Moby's In my Heart.
It is interesting to note that Nokia has done away with the pop port and the jack which connects its headphones, and has adopted the universal jack used by most other phone makers.
On the whole the N82 adds up to more than the sum of its parts. I rate it as one of the top multimedia phones out there. Recommended.
