Nokia N9 Tips/Tricks/Apps/Firmware/Dualboot

to be honest i prefer meego than android...if only...iff only there were more better apps for it then it would be the complete phone

There are currently issues installing it from the Store, but it seems downloading and installing manually works fine, see the comments here.
Edit: This worked for me (a slight variation on Nicolas Dufresne's workaround):
After a failed attempt at updating from the Store, open a terminal (developer mode)

$ devel-su
# mv /var/cache/apt/archives/partial/sportstracker_1.0.4_armel.sportstracker.FAILED /home/user/MyDocs/sportstracker.deb
# cd /home/user/MyDocs/
# dpkg -i sportstracker.deb
# rm sportstracker.deb

Ver 0.1.8 is out less than 2 hours after 0.1.6 came out.

Seems to work mostly fine, at least I didn't experience any big bugs. The only features I would still need in it is emoticons and being able to send/receive files and maybe set a status message. However for now I am happy that I am just able to send/receive messages from other whatsapp users.
 
There is a command to set the status somewhere on the TMO thread. Also you can change it on some other website. Check LINK
 
Thought I might ask this question in here. I'm setting up a telkom email on the N9 with a vodacom sim. now because it's vodacom I must use smtp.vodamail.co.za for the smtp server but that server does not use a username or password however when I want to save the email settings on the phone it keeps telling me that I forgot to enter a username / password :confused:
 
can you post a screenshot of your error? Tried it on my phone and it works (albeit with axxess mail)

Unfortunately it's one of my friends phone and not with me at the moment. What do I press to take a screenshot once I have the phone?

Which software version are you using? I just remember on his phone it said something about "manhattan" by the software, maybe it's a bug in that specific version?
 
Maybe his phone was still on PR1.0 or PR1.1, I found PR1.2 to be rock solid. The only single gripe I have, is my beta wazapp clients randomly crashing, but then again...

Did you have to restore from backup or reinstall any apps?

All data and all applications still installed after OTA update, [-]except that Organiser Feed no longer seems to be working but probably just needs an update for PR1.3.[/-]

Edit: Organiser Feed working fine.

There's a user submitted changelog thread at TMO.
