Hi Guys

I just phoned 4U shop in Vodaworld.

They have a N91 on special for R 139.00 weekend everyday, Now this is only for new applications not on Upgrade !!!!

Vodacom3G could you pls clarify this for me as it doesn't make no sence.

Lots of SP's seem to do this, seems like the subsidies are higher for new contracts, I suppose because up to now they've got you locked in with your number. Guessing it should change when MNP finally goes live.

Exactly - its makes a lot of sense! The trick is to get you locked into a 2 year contract. Once your'e in they can do whatever they want - at least for the next 2 years anyway. This short-sighted view works well without MNP, cause chances are good you will renew to keep the number. Killing the golden goose (or goat maybe) - I don't think so - of course they are able to rely very heavily on our SA consumer tradition of apathy - WALK ALL OVER ME - PLEASE! Business relys on getting ahead by doing what works - IT WORKS, SO THEY DO IT! Even MNP may not be the silver bullet we are expecting!

So of course it doesn't make sense to us, but it works just fine for the money moguls out there!
