The N95 is obviously as we know a 3.8Mbps device, Vodacom only supports 1.8Mbps right? When I connect it says connection speed 921.6kbps, what needs to be done to speed up that link between the computer and the phone?

Kinda stupid if your phone can do 3.8Mbps but you cant connect to the internet at that speed from your laptop or desktop.

What does speed.vodacom.co.za report?

Around 921 or higher?

727kbps Download :/
201kbps Upload

Bleh, got the 3.5G HSPDA logo though.

Well anything above 384 is considered HSDPA.

And those upload speeds look like HSDPA as well.

So you're fine.

Don't know how to change that connection speed through. Are you connecting via BlueTooth or USB data cable?

Don't worry about what your PC says your speed is. When I connect with my Samsung 3G phone, my PC says I'm connected at 230kbps. Yet I get download speeds of over 1000kbps.

(As stated by nuyork, make sure you are connected to USB as BT is too slow)
