Nokia N95 - Navigator Experience..

Good Morning to all Nokia N-95 handset owners, my experience with the Navigator has been terrible/horrible. I ended up at the wrong places for one and nearly went against One way traffic… I think Nokia has to recall there hand sets. I actually have to turn the phone over at a 180 % angle. There Problem solved.. It is really is ticking me off. I want to explode. Where by I see Catergory example : petrol station that’s suppose to be on the right It’s on the left on the maps… Anyone know if the software upgrade fixes these eissues. I’ve tried to re install the map. Same thing happens I've to have the phone at 180 % angle to work Properly and see the Lovely category.

I hate where Nokia have placed the GPS Receiver.
 
my experience so far has been positive ... got to me to where i wanted to go ... once it GPS locks no need to have the phone upside down

used the GPS already here in joburg, Pretoria and in Cape Town ... worked like a charm ...

your slide of the phone is open right?

If you purchase the license for navigation then the maps will rotate as you drive. The problem is not the handset. The problem is the maps. Although I must say I used my GPS 3times because I really had to because I had no idea how to get to my destination and it helped me get there without any problem at all.

I think you're doing something wrong m8. Holding the phone upside down???

I'll purchase the navigation Voice Guidence once the new firmware comes out from Vodafone when ever that will be.. U lucky the maps turn UR side. My maps don't even turn. Either I've to turn the phone to see where I'm going i weight around 10mins to get the Satellite to lock.. Maybe my phone is faulty.. Going to to eraste the whole entire memory.

The navigation works like a dream - well worth it. Looking for that file myself any links appreciated...

Pity the license can not transfer to a MTN contract SIM yet - but they say they are working on the problem. We'll wait and see :mad:

MTN should maybe have their handsets properly network tested PRIOR to release!!! Come on MTN - raise your game:D
 
One important thing that I hope you all know: You should have the handset slided open when using the GPS, because the chip is located in the bottom part of the handset, so it needs to be open to function correctly...found this out after actually reading the manual! BTW, updated maps with voice guidance works like a dream!
 
They have fixed it now though - I got that same response from them. Then last week i got a mail to confirm that the issue has been fixed.

All working on my side now - though that lock also takes a frikken long time for me aswell!

If I stand still in my driveway it takes bout 1 minute to lock, but when I start driving before I get lock it also takes bout 5-10mins... So try being stationary while trying to get lock..?
