Nokia N95 Simcard Registration failed

Hi,

I have a Nokia N95 8GB. The other day I removed the battery and put it back again and now when I switch on the phone it starts up normal but after a while it shows up a message SIM CARD REGISTRATION FAILED. Sometimes it immediately goes back to normal, other times it then shows INSERT SIMCARD and switches off.
It work for a little while sometimes a minute up to a few hours.

I am on VODACOM network.

Sim card works fine in other phones. different sim cards also do the same thing but less frequent

Is the phone damaged or the sim card ?

any suggestions???

If the sim works in other phones its not the sim.
Check the sim holder of the phone, probably dirty.
Otherwise save you data and master rest the phone, *#7370* then 12345.

If that doesnt work, send it for repairs... its still in 2 yr warranty???

Oh or the phone could be blacklisted.

Have been using the phone for about a year with no problems.

Dont know if its still in warranty cos i bought the phone (no Contract)

Tried the reset and still doing the same thing.

Would the fone work for while if its blacklisted?
