Nokia N95 @ Vodacom??

its barely on the high end talk packages, OT i got mine mtn procall 120 for R0

The GPS is useless inside a car, only works outside, another feature i miss is fax, or even to beable to fax from windows, like the imate had

Hmmm not sure you are using your phone properly, or you are in serious need of a firmware upgrade

My GPS is fine when placed in the centre console of my vehicle with part of the dash above it and out of line of sight with the sky! Initial sattelite lock in takes less than a minute too.

As regards the fax I think you need to do a little googling and not expect everything to fall into your phone with no effort. In the few weeks I have had my N95 I have found both ScanR and Comombo which allow me to scan and fax from my phone....

Sometimes I do wonder about the intention of some of these posts.

Not my experience at all, do you have a holder for it? Do you remember to slide it open when you use it?

I have just been to europe with it. I got myself a 8GB Sandisk Micro SDHC and uploaded all the european maps for free on to it! Worked amazing for the entire trip!

Oh I was about to cry thinking they wont support it with FW etc....
but the 8gb doesn't have a memory card slot right?

Besides that what i heard samsung was releasing 8gb and 32gb micro sd card... I dont know about you but there more memory the merrier. Even if im not going to use it all...

Yes, I just don't think that the N95 will support such large memory cards. Maybe with the right firmware.

Piesang, do you also have the Sandisk 8gb memory card? I remember Nokia saying in the beginning that it would only support 2gb...and now we are already at 8gb and it is still supported...so I believe it will be able to support the 32gb++ sd's of the future

Nope. I use a 2GB SD in my N95. I have about 300MB left on it. I will buy a bigger SD as soon as I realize that I need one. At the moment I use my
E90 more than my N95.

Yes the last firmware did improve the GPS signal a lot! note the post was in august...

Im not interested in taking a picture of a document and scanning it though, i would like to fax from windows (with the phone plugged into usb) believe me i did my share of googling and found nothing (that worked anyway)

Does anyone else have their phone reboot when you open the slider, happenes maybe 2-3 times a week - havent looked for a new firmware yet - must still get vista drivers :/

I have seen mention on a few forums, including this thread, about a "problem" of the messages in the inbox of the N95 showing the senders name as "last name first name".

I too have had this happen and have searched all over the net to find a solution. I have not found one but I think I have stumbled onto a reason for this happening.

I was not having problems with this since I first got the phone and all senders were showing as "first name last name", but this morning I was doing something (best birthday application) and sorted my contacts by "last name first name". While doing this a message came through which I missed. I finished what I was doing and changed my contact list back to "first name last name". It was then that I spotted the message in my inbox.

It appears that what happens is that the messages in your inbox are shown the way your contact list appeared when they arrived on your phone. If you change the format later it will not change these messages which have already been received.... or so it seems in my limited experience. This missed message of mine now shows as "last name first name" even though I have changed my contact list back to my preferred format.

Perhaps someone else can confirm this....?

Maybe we should now change this threads name to N96 @ Vodacom?? :)
