Nokia N95 @ Vodacom??

I just got this email....

i mean come-f-ing-on... mtn has released, vodac says it's out of testing and approved, so why the 2 month wait?????

Believe me,they don't need a review to want this phone,everybody wants one.:D
 
Yes it seems everybody does want one. In any normal country the Service Providers would be falling over themselves to make it available. Yet we wait.......

Might just bite the bullet and pay R6250 from dubai and not renew my contract.
 
I think I'll wait for the E90 and let my wife have the N95, that way,I'll have the best of both phones, Her contract expire end of May, mine later this year.
It's (E90) like a mini laptop/notebook, so nice.
 
Disturbing N95 Review...

We all know millions of people around the world have the N95... (except us). Anyway, here was a review of it that I found a bit disturbing::(

"Nobody was more psyched about the N95 than I was. After all, this was to be the phone to end all phones: A 5-megapixel camera with auto focus and Zeiss optics, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, a s-w-a-n-k dual-direction slide, and friggin’ GPS! Then I finally got one, waved bon voyage to the old Joe Brown and set off to become Convergence Man, armed with the power of the ultimate megagadget. Ten days later I am still old Joe Brown. Convergence Man got his ass kicked by reality: the phone has HSDPA, but not if you live in the US. The camera is Phat City, but its shutter lag is almost long enough for the subject to rush out of frame, grab a pizza, slip back in and resume his pose. The GPS works great—if there are no buildings around, and, despite a beefed-up processor, the Symbian S60 operating system is slower than a tar-footed giant sloth on a hot sidewalk. Don’t get me wrong: the N95 is the best phone I’ve ever had. It just doesn’t quite measure up to all the fuss. —Joe Brown, Gadget Lab"

But that review is from someone in the states... Where 3G doesn't work on any phone and sorry buddy, but ALL gps receivers get nailed by talk buildings, it's only those waas enabled ones that can also use ground based stations that navigate better, but for like twice the price. And last time i checked, cellphone camera was for happy snaps, if you really want decent photos, a digital camera will always be better :-)

Let me tell you this. We all know the N95 is a phone with more gadgets than any other device out there. Maybe it's not the best but why would you buy al those gadgets seperately and spend over R14000 when you can get one phone on a contract for a small price or even go and buy it for R8000.

Maybe I'm overexcited, maybe it's not that good. Well, then at least I didn't waste R14000 but only R999.

I agree with you.

And remember. If you want a GPS, buy a GPS, if you want a camera, buy a camera. If you can get one device that does it all, get the N95, even if it doesn't have the best of all the devices built into it.

I guess I want something that does it all, better than all... we all do.
I know I'm expecting too much, but hopefully the N95 will somewhat satisfy our needs.. From what I read on allaboutsymbian.com , this device is more than sufficient for me.

Now I wait for the N95's review by a South African, as I already have enough UK and US reviews..

I'll do a review as soon as I get mine and played with it for a few days.

The N80 is enough for me, so the N95 will be more than enough.:D ;)

The N95 has been an absolute pleasure to work with,
It does everything it is supposed to and more :P

seriously,

the GPS works great, the symbian software, unlike every other nokia I have ever had, is extremely fast, messages load quickly, things work, and the phone is a pleasure,

I really can advise this phone to everyone

Just phone VC Upgrade Dept. The person I spoke to said the N95 is still in for network testing... what the fsck :mad:
 
Seems most of the sales people dont have a clue, they dont bother finding out if they got their facts straight:mad:

Shame man, to them its just another phone i guess, but true thats all it is, another phone.
